The easiest way to understand what’s driving the costs on your latest bill is to check the Termina Dashboard.

For a quick introduction on how to use the dashboard, check out this article.
Why is my bill higher than usual?
Here are a few common reasons:
Billing period
Is this bill for a longer period than usual? Sometimes (especially for gas), retailers will bundle multiple months into one bill.
Estimated vs actual reads
Is your bill based on an estimate rather than an actual read? Estimated bills can sometimes be higher since they’re not based on your exact usage. To help with this, check out our guide on submitting meter readings.
Daily costs
Use the Termina Dashboard to check your cost per day. This helps you understand whether the bill looks high because your daily cost increased, or simply because the bill covers more days than usual.
Why is my cost per day so high this month?
This is usually related to increased usage. On your dashboard, compare your current usage with previous bills. Seasonal changes or specific activities (like heating during winter) can cause temporary spikes.
Why have my costs increased since joining Termina?
There are two likely reasons:
- Energy prices have increased as part of yearly changes. Retailers often adjust pricing around June-July each year, which can impact overall costs. Termina continuously searches for the best rates and automatically switches your account when better pricing becomes available.
- Your usage has increased. Your energy consumption may have gone up due to seasonal or operational changes. Use your dashboard to explore your usage trends, and toggle the graph to “Usage” for a detailed view.
